Company History

May 1970: Established as Asahi Rubber, a limited company, in Kita-ku, Tokyo.
June 1976: Established as Asahi Rubber Inc. in Edobukuro, Kawaguchi-shi, Saitama.
November 1976: Obtained 4 UL safety standards and became a UL certified factory.
March 1980: Relocated head office and factory to 283 Akai, Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture.
October 1986: Built and began operation of the Fukushima Factory.
April 1987: Made the R & D division an independent subsidiary, the Fine Rubber Laboratories Co.,Ltd.(The present ASAHI FR R & D Co.,Ltd.), strengthening R & D operations.
October 1989: Expanded the Fukushima Factory in order to increase capacity.
November 1993: Expanded the Fukushima Factory in order to increase capacity.
March 1994: Moved the production division in Kawaguchi to the Fukushima Factory.
April 1995: Moved the administrative division to the Fukushima Factory. Established the Osaka Sales Office in Joto-ku, Osaka-shi, Osaka, to strengthen sales west of central Japan.
September 1995: Built a new head office at 3 Akai Kawaguchi-shi, Saitama.
October 1995: Established a liaison office in Illinois in order to expand business for the US market.
September 1998: Listed on the Japan Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations.
October 1998: Obtained ISO9001 certification.
June 1999: The North American Liaison Office was spun off as an independent entity to expand overseas sales, and a subsidiary, ARI INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION, was established in Illinois, U.S.A.
January 2000: New head office building was built in Dote-cho 2-chome, Omiya-ku, Saitama City (former Omiya City), Saitama Prefecture, to strengthen the sales and administrative divisions, and all head office functions were relocated.
March 2000: Obtained ISO14001 certification.
March 2002: Began operation of the newly constructed #2 Fukushima Factory near the Fukushima Factory for the medical industry products.
June 2004: Established a liaison office in Shanghai in order to expand business for China and Asian market.
December 2004: Cancelled over-the-counter registration with the Japan Securities Dealers Association and listing the stock on the JASDAQ Securities Exchange.
November 2005: Established a subsidiary, Asahi Rubber (Hong Kong) Limited, in Hong Kong to manage the sales and inbound processing factory of industrial rubber products.
April 2006: Establishing and commencing operations of Tangxia Asahi Rubber Factory in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, China as a raw material processing plant.
November 2006: Began operation of the newly constructed Shirakawa Factory for the coloring rubber products in Shirakawa-shi, Fukushima.
April 2010: Following the merger of the JASDAQ Securities Exchange and the Osaka Securities Exchange, the company is listed on the Osaka Securities Exchange JASDAQ section.
July 2010: Asahi Rubber (H.K.) Co., Ltd. established a subsidiary with a production plant in Guangdong Province, China, called Dongguan Asahi Precision Rubber Products Co.
